walking.

Day #1. Everyone needs to start somewhere. For me, today is that day. I know that we have all had our series of "day #1's" followed by a relapse into the abyss that we originally came from.....but hopefully with this blog and my support group of positive, inspirational friends, this Day #1 won't have to be repeated in roughly 6 months.

With that being said....

I started out today with a long walk. For me, I "walk" all day at work....but walking up and down the hills of Btown is quite different from selling the clothing and shoes that people typically wear while they themselves do these things. I noticed that once I get to the top of the "hill", life takes a pleasant spin. It is quite the journey for me to get up this hill, and normally by the top (which isnt really that far...) my legs are already cursing me. Which I am now taking as their sign of rebellion, and I am telling them to SHHHHHH!

Once my new morning hill walk routine was finished, I had the amazing idea to (why not!!) venture downtown (walking of course) to the Burlington Farmers Market with my lovely and highly motivating (even though she doesn't know it) best friend, Angie. I understand that "normal" people walk around Btown often and without problem, however for me, and my rebelling legs, this turned into quite a feat, I however, walked on, and what once could have been quite the negative and grueling experience, turned into quite the day maker.

Upon returning from my glorious outing, and of course purchasing SO many local and delicious looking veggies, bread and cheese for tonight's dinner, my legs literally cried when I embarked on the journey up the  3 flights of stairs to my humble abode. Ahhhh the joys. They can now rest.

Day #1 lesson/idea/inspiration:
I have learned that, and just today on my first day, that it seems people take walking for granted! What a novel idea. Walking. But for me, that simple word holds so much anxiety.

Upon returning from my glorious outing, and of course purchasing SO much local and delicious looking veggies, bread and cheese for tonights dinner, my legs literally cried when I embarked on the journey up the  3 flights of stairs to my humble abode. Ahhhh the joys. They can now rest.

Day #1. Success.
